The City of Sonoma is moving forward in its transition to district-based elections, and community input is essential in shaping the final district boundaries. The third public hearing during a special meeting that will take place on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers (177 First Street West), where the City Council will review and gather feedback on draft district maps [see agenda].

Draft Maps for Consideration
As part of the districting process, Redistricting Partners has developed six draft maps that align with the requirements of the FAIR MAPS Act and incorporate key community considerations. These maps provide options for both a 4-district system with an at-large mayor and a 5-district system where the mayor is selected annually by the City Council.
In addition to the professionally prepared maps, the City has received 16 publicly submitted maps that have been reviewed for compliance.
Draft Maps and Public Submissions can be viewed on the City’s website.
