We’re gearing up for our renowned 4th of July Celebration, organized by the Sonoma Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association. With a legacy of excellence recognized nationally, this year’s festivities promise to be nothing short of magical, as the community comes together to commemorate 50 years of this cherished tradition.
Named the eighth best 4th of July celebration in the country by Travel+Leisure Magazine & Yahoo News, Sonoma’s Independence Day celebration kicks off with the much-anticipated Parade at 10 am, meandering through the historic Plaza. Following the parade, attendees can immerse themselves in an authentic old-fashioned festival, featuring food, drinks, and game booths hosted by Sonoma’s non-profit organizations. Notably, all proceeds generated from the festival contribute to supporting Sonoma’s invaluable nonprofit community.
As the evening approaches, anticipation builds for the breathtaking fireworks show. Set against the backdrop of General Vallejo’s field, the night sky will come alive with a dazzling display that lasts approximately 45 minutes. This year’s theme, “50 Years of Magic,” promises a spectacle that will captivate hearts and minds alike.
In preparation for this monumental event, the Sonoma Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association is actively seeking donations to support the annual fireworks display. Contributions from generous donors ensure that the tradition continues, allowing families and friends to create lasting memories under the starlit sky.
Additionally, community members are encouraged to participate in the celebration by submitting parade entries, hosting festival booths, sponsoring the festival, and volunteering their time. Those interested can find more information and opportunities to get involved on the association’s website at www.sonomavolunteerfirefighters.org.
