Sonoma Clean Power is inviting the community to a Town Hall event on Thursday, July 25th, to discuss its ambitious new initiative, the Geothermal Opportunity Zone (GeoZone). The event will be held at the Sonoma Clean Power Customer Center in downtown Santa Rosa from 6-8 PM.
The GeoZone project aims to develop 600 megawatts of next-generation geothermal energy in Sonoma and Mendocino counties over the next decade. This initiative is expected to play a pivotal role in securing a long-term supply of affordable, reliable clean energy while combating the global climate crisis.
The Town Hall event will provide an in-depth look at the GeoZone initiative and its potential benefits and impacts. Topics will include local and state climate goals, grid reliability, energy affordability, and job creation. Sonoma Clean Power’s CEO will open the event with welcome remarks, followed by an overview of the project and a panel discussion with experts in the field. There will also be time for audience Q&A and comments.
