Project Background
The project site is a 7,500-square-foot parcel within the Sonoma Depot Historic District, featuring the historic Ice House and a barn with an ADU. Often referred to as “The Cooperage”, the property was approved for adaptive reuse in 2018, allowing for limited retail and residential use. The proposed amendment seeks approval for a vacation rental on the second floor and wine tasting on the ground floor. The Planning Commission denied the application on May 16, 2024, which the owner appealed. For more information see the staff report provided on September 4, 2024.
