Serving on a Commission or Committee

Citizen participation is critical to the success of local government. For persons seeking to participate in city government, the City of Sonoma offers many opportunities for citizens  to become involved in the decision-making process.

Applying for a position on a Board or Commission is easy - simply submit an electronic application via the CivicWeb Portal.  Paper applications can also be submitted. Applications are available in the Office of the City Clerk, City Hall, No. 1 The Plaza, Sonoma CA 95476. Please note, applications are only accepted when there is a vacancy.  When the application period closes, all applications are made public and posted below.

Ads are placed in local newspapers whenever vacancies occur on any of the City Commissions.
