Over the past year and a half, the City of Sonoma has been working with the Sonoma County Transportation Authority to develop a coordinated Countywide Active Transportation Plan. As part of this effort, the City is updating its Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan with a new standalone Active Transportation Plan.

We’re excited to announce that the Draft Active Transportation Plan for the City of Sonoma is now available for public review and comment! This plan incorporates valuable input from community members gathered through online comments and in-person events in Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. It aims to create a safer, more accessible transportation network for cyclists and pedestrians in our community.

You can download the Draft Plan and submit your comments online. Public comments will be accepted through November 30, 2024.

The draft is also scheduled to be presented to the Planning Commission at their October 24th meeting, providing another opportunity for feedback.

We encourage you to take this chance to share your thoughts and help shape the future of transportation in Sonoma. The plan’s final version is expected to go to the City Council for consideration in early 2025.
