The City of Sonoma is currently seeking a dedicated Building Inspector to join our Community Development Department. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about ensuring safe and quality construction in our community.
Salary Range:
- Building Inspector I: $7,173.98 to $8,720.01 per month
- Building Inspector II: $7,888.43 to $9,588.44 per month
As a Building Inspector, you will play a vital role in inspecting residential, commercial, and industrial buildings at various stages of construction, alteration, and repair. You’ll assist in reviewing building plans, processing permits, and enforcing construction codes. The position involves performing combination inspections, including building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, energy, grading, CALGreen, flood hazards, and accessibility.
This recruitment aims to fill an immediate opening, and an eligible list will be maintained for at least one year. The City’s Building Division is a small, dedicated team that oversees a range of projects from residential to commercial and public construction.
