Here’s how the La Luz Center assistance program works:
Applicants contact La Luz Center to start the aid process. Each Wednesday through the end of 2017, a new wait list will be opened for intake interview appointments. To be added to the wait list please visit or call the La Luz Center main office at (707) 938-5131. Applicants will then be contacted to schedule their intake interview. Applicants arrive for the interview with documentation that supports their qualification and request for financial assistance.
Each application will be reviewed and assistance awards will be communicated within two-three weeks of the intake request. Individuals and families with urgent needs will receive interim aid from La Luz Center or referrals to partner organizations, as determined in the intake interview. All assistance is provided through checks to landlords, utility companies and/or gift cards. There will be no cash assistance and no checks payable to individuals.
