On Wednesday, January 17, 2018 the City Council held its first Water Rate Study session. At this session, the consultants reviewed the overall process and components of the water rate study; provided an overview of the “evolution” of various water rate structures, reminded Council members of the City’s current rate structure, and discussed common rate study objectives, including financial stability, affordability, increasing infrastructure investment, and conservation. It was described how some of the objectives are competing in that they are best achieved through different types of rate structures. The updated rate structure eventually chosen should reflect the City’s highest objectives. The video of this presentation and workshop can be viewed on the City’s CivicWeb Portal under Agenda Item 7.1, and the PowerPoint is also available in the document list at the bottom of the Water Rate Study page.
