Screening of “Wilder than Wild” Documentary, Presented by the Sonoma Ecology Center
The Sonoma Ecology Center presents the documentary, WILDER THAN WILD: Fire, Forests and the Future reveals how fire suppression and climate change have exposed Western forests to large, high-intensity wildfires, while greenhouse gases released from these fires contribute to global warming. This vicious cycle jeopardizes our forests and affects us all with extreme weather and more wildfires, some of which are now entering highly populated wildland-urban areas.
The film starts at 7 PM, with light refreshments served from 6 PM. A panel will occur afterward moderated by “Bay Area Backroads” TV host Doug McConnell. Panelists include a Bouverie fire ecologist; Sonoma County Sheriff Giordano who helped guide emergency response last year; SEC wildlife biologist Caitlin Cornwall; and the film’s producer and filmmaker.
