Sonoma, CA – February 7, 2025 – With overnight temperatures forecasted to drop to 32 degrees or below, the activation of the temporary Emergency Warming Center in the City of Sonoma has been extended through Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 7 a.m. The warming center, located at the City of Sonoma Emergency Homeless Shelter (formerly “The Haven”), will continue to provide overnight shelter for those experiencing homelessness and individuals without heat.
The decision to extend the warming center’s operation is based on National Weather Service forecasts, which indicate continued freezing temperatures, combined with recent rain that has left conditions especially dangerous for those without shelter.
Emergency Warming Center details:
- The Emergency Warming Center will be open overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on the following dates:
- Friday, Feb. 7 to Saturday, Feb. 8
- Saturday, Feb. 8 to Sunday, Feb. 9
- Sunday, Feb. 9 to Monday, Feb. 10
- Monday, Feb. 10 to Tuesday, Feb. 11
- Location: City of Sonoma Emergency Homeless Shelter, 151 1st St W, Sonoma
What to expect at the Warming Center:
- A warm, safe place to stay overnight
- Cots for sleeping
- Light snacks and beverages
- Charging stations for personal electronic devices
- Well-behaved pets may be permitted at the discretion of the Warming Center Manager; service animals are allowed
Please note: Cooking, meal service, and kitchen access are not available. Individuals must comply with the City’s Warming Center Standards of Behavior (see website).

- Pickup Time: 6 p.m. – 6:10 p.m.
- H.A.S. Tiny Home Village – 18820 Hwy 12
- Pickup Time: 6:30 p.m. – 6:40 p.m.
- Sonoma Valley Regional Library – 755 West Napa St.
- Pickup Time: 6:55 p.m. – 7:05 p.m.
