On April 19th, 2023, the City Council granted the contract for the construction management of the Chase St Bridge to Ghirardelli Associates Inc. This construction management encompasses a range of services, including resident engineering and construction inspection, public outreach and assistance, materials and source inspection and testing, stormwater pollution prevention quality assurance, construction staking quality assurance, biological monitoring, and arborist services.
The City initially issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for construction management services on July 25, 2022. Proposals were required to be submitted by September 8, 2022. Ghirardelli Associates emerged as the preferred choice from a highly qualified pool of consulting firms, following a thorough review by the Public Works department and an in-person interview that included a question and answer session. Both the proposal and interview were evaluated and scored based on the published criteria outlined in the RFP.
