Starting January 1, 2025, property owners and operators of guest rental properties in Sonoma will have a convenient new way to manage their Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) and Tourism Improvement District (TID) fees. The City of Sonoma is excited to announce the launch of an online portal for filing and paying TOT and TID, making the process faster and easier than ever.
The new system, hosted by HdL (the same trusted partner that manages the City’s business licenses), will allow users to submit payments online via electronic check or credit card. Please note that a small convenience fee will apply for credit card payments. For those who prefer traditional methods, there will also be a new mailing address for submitting payments by check.
In the coming weeks, property owners will receive a letter from HdL with step-by-step instructions on how to access the online portal and who to contact for assistance. The letter will be sent to the address on file for the property’s business license, so be sure to keep an eye out for this important update!
Until December 31, 2024, TOT and TID payments can still be mailed to City Hall at No. 1 The Plaza, Sonoma, CA 95476.
