At its meeting on January 19th, 2022, the City Council unanimously approved an “Urgency” Ordinance that prohibits timeshares and fractional interest uses in all parts of the City. It also prohibits the advertising of such uses and violations are punishable by fines and or penalties.
The Urgency Ordinance went into effect immediately upon approval. Staff will follow up in the next few months with a “regular” ordinance that will replace the urgency ordinance. The “regular” process requires that the Planning Commission review and recommendation to the City Council. It is anticipated that these public hearings will occur from February through April 2022.
