Happy Pride Month, Sonoma!
June is pride month, a time when our community comes together to honor and celebrate our Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ+) friends, family, and neighbors. This month is a powerful reminder of the progress we’ve made towards equality and the work that remains.
Sonoma Valley Pride: Reflecting on the 2nd Annual Event
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who attended and contributed to the 2nd annual Sonoma Valley Pride event, which took place on May 30, 2024. The event was a vibrant celebration of our LGBTQ+ community, filled with joy, unity, and a shared commitment to inclusivity.
The festivities included the ceremonial placing of the Pride flags on City Hall and a series of speakers who each brought unique perspectives and powerful messages. This year’s speakers included:
- Gary Saperstein, Owner of Out in the Vineyard
- John Gurney, Mayor of the City of Sonoma
- Dr. Jeanette Rodriguez-Chien, Superintendent of Sonoma Valley Unified School District
- Brandon Cutting, Chief of Sonoma Police Department
- Reverend Curran Reichert, First Congregational Church of Sonoma
- Honey Mahogany, Director of the San Francisco Office of Transgender Initiatives

Following the inspiring speeches, attendees participated in a pride walk around Plaza Park and a reception at the Sunflower Caffé where attendees enjoyed refreshments, connected with one another, and continued the celebration in a warm and welcoming environment. Special thanks to the Sunflower Caffé, Sparc, Corner 103, and Passaggio Wines for their generous support.
Thanks for celebrating with us!
