The City of Sonoma Cultural and Fine Arts Commission (CFAC) is now accepting entries for the 2023 Student Creative Arts Award through Friday, April 14, 2023. This award program is open to high school juniors and seniors who reside within the Sonoma Valley Unified School District boundary and demonstrate promise in the visual, literary, or performing arts. Winners are awarded up to $2,000 cash award to be used for the furtherance of their artistic abilities, education, or career.
Students interested in being considered for an award should submit an online application including samples of their best work and a 200-500 word “Artist Statement” explaining the role that art has played in their life and what their plans are for continuing their artistic training. The online entry form can be found on the City’s website.
Finalists will be notified by April 28, 2023, and must be available to participate in an in-person interview with the CFAC commissioners during their meeting on May 9, 2023.
