The City of Sonoma is actively seeking an exceptional candidate to fill the position of Building Official. This is an opportunity for highly-qualified individuals to contribute their expertise and skills to the City’s Community Development Department. With a monthly salary ranging from $10,227 – $12,431, the Building Official will play a crucial role in planning, organizing, supervising, directing, and coordinating activities within the Building Division.
As the Building Official, you will ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations for structures within the City. Additionally, you will serve as the designated Floodplain Administrator, overseeing related matters. In this role, you will supervise a team of Building Inspectors, Plans Examiners, and other staff members, and guide interpreting and enforcing the California Building Standards Code.
