Get ready for a blast from the past at the Valley of the Moon Vintage Festival this weekend! We’ve got some exciting news to share: the 5K Race & Fun Run and the legendary Firefighter water fights are making a triumphant return this year. But before you lace up those running shoes or set out your chair for premium viewing, here’s a heads-up on how the roads will be impacted on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Race Day Road Rundown:
The family-friendly 5K race kicks off at 8:00 a.m. sharp, right on Spain St in the heart of the Plaza. Runners will be hitting the pavement, making their way through a scenic route that includes Spain St, 2nd St E up to Blue Wing Dr, the bike path, and some zigzags on 4th St E, Brazil St, Gehricke Rd, and Lovall Valley Rd. After a dash through town, they’ll be making a triumphant return to the Plaza on E Spain St.
Keep in mind that most streets along the race route will only be impacted for a few hours in the morning, from about 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the latest (except for that section of Spain Street by the Plaza, which will stay closed until late afternoon for the water fights).
Road Closures & Parking Restrictions:

- 2nd St E from Blue Wing Dr to Spain St
- West-bound side of Spain Street from 1st St E to 4th St E
- North-bound side of 4th St E from Spain St to Brazil St

- North-bound side on 4th St E between Spain St and Brazil St
