SONOMA’S SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAMS – APRIL 2009
As part of the National Conversation on Climate Action sponsored by ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability, the City of Sonoma prepared and hosted a presentation on Earth Day, April 22, 2009. The topics reviewed include AB811 Energy Efficiency Funding, Commercial Retrofit Funding, the City’s new Green Building Ordinance, Water Conservation and Local Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan. KITCHEN VEGETABLE WASTE RECYLING
You can now place all vegetative food waste in your yard debris cans. Material will be recycled into compost. Click for more information.

Through the Sonoma Economic Development Partnership, the City offers several green business programs.
SONOMA'S GREEN BUILDING PROGRAM
On March 4, 2009 the City Council adopted a new mandatory Green Building Program for the City of Sonoma. The program will become effective on August 1, 2009. Click here for more information.
